Jasmine is a seated movement exercise coach who focuses on creating a space for exercise with laughter, fun music and community. Jasmine adds dance fusion to her exercises allowing for people to work on their co-ordination, patterns and rhythm, whilst creating a more light-hearted feel to the exercise.
There is never any pressure to move “well” or in time, there are no wrongs or rights and there would only ever be a correction for safety reasons. The focus is on the body, how each individual feels on the day – whether they want to push themselves or know to take it easier. There is encouragement to sing along but not mandatory – Jasmine will always be found singing (somewhat in-tune). In the session you can expect a warm-up, movement for the arms and legs, co-ordinating movements, brain exercises, one optional standing up song (that can be done sat down), props and a stretch at the end.
Jasmine incorporates bi-lateral asymmetry, mirroring, somatic approaches, exercise technique, fine motor skills and whole-body movements. All of this aims to work both the brain and the body to help you in everyday life.
For both sessions there will always be a bit of time at the end to socialise – In Biggleswade you are welcome to sit in the theatre café for a drink or a snack. There is an accessible entrance to the halls and all you need is yourself, perhaps someone to bring you along to class and some water (Jasmine will have a handful of cups for water as well).
